Los Santos

Latin Bolero group from Mexico who were active in the 1960's.

Los Santos was founded in the late 1950s, by young people from the state of Guerrero, students of the National School of Teachers. Original members include Rolando Morlet Martínez (1934) from Chilpancingo, Heladio "Lalo" Ayala Salazar (1935) from Alcozauca and Diego Alcaraz Alarcón (1937) from Tixtla. Initially the trio was called Linaloe. The name of Los Santos resulted from a contest that was carried out within the recording company, which was in honor of the Brazilian soccer team Santos FC, where the famous Pelé played.

Notable songs by Los Santos are "Jacaranda", "Cerca Del Mar", "Llorarás" and "Caleta Tropical".

Do not confuse with Los Santos (4) who were from Argentina
