American pop singer who sang in the 1940's-50's.Born Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
Sister of bandleader and singer Russ Carlyle.
She was active in radio, nightclubs and TV since she began singing in her brother's band in Cleveland. Originally trained for opera, she switched to popular music and appeared in a number of musicals among them "A Month of Sundays" and the revival of "Of Thee I Sing". She can be heard singing a spirited rendition of "Sam and Delilah" on the Columbia Records "Girl Crazy" album.
She also was a leader of her brother's big band when he was drafted during World War II.
