Roddy Campbell

Roddy Campbell is a traditional Gaelic singer from the Isle of Barra, off the west coast of Scotland. His singing style comes directly from the Islands and from the people inhabiting them, especially his family which includes the well known 'source singers' Calum & Annie Johnson. As well as having an extensive song repertoire, Roddy's first instrument is the bagpipes and he also plays whistle and flute, all of which can be heard on this recording.
Roddy is the father of singer, pianist and fiddler Marianne Campbell and piper, whistle player and singer Rory Campbell
