Pedro Marcano

Puerto Rican bandleader, composer and vocalist (1902-1966)

During the 1930s and 1940s, Pedro Marcano, a.k.a. "Piquito," and his Cuarteto Marcano were one one the most popular Puerto Rican bands in New York City. At the end of the 1940s, Marcano returned to Puerto Rico, but traveled back to New York frequently, taking part in the jibaro revival of the 1950s.

As composer, he is responsible for hits such as "Sin Las Mujeres," "Angelica Te Llaman," "Son Tres (Las Islas Hermanas)" and "Mi Cafetal."
