The Mel-Tones

Members: Les Baxter, Mel Tormé, Sue Allen, Bernie Parke, Ginny O'Connor, Betty Beveridge, Paul Fredricks

American modern vocal group, they appeared in several motion pictures and numerous radio shows, later the name was expanded to "Mel Tormé and the Mel-Tones" in recognition of Mel Tormé's dual role as the arranger and solo vocalist. The group disbanded in 1947, when Mel Tormé started his solo career.

Members were Bernie Parke, Diz Disruhd, Betty Beveridge, and Ginny O'Connor, plus Tormé who doubled as arranger. Disruhd was replaced by Les Baxter in 1944.
