Cheri Cheri Jaguar described themselves as being inspired by darkness, unknown landscapes and creatures under the bed.
Formed in December 2012, Sacha (Vocals, Synth), Arthur (Guitar), Malik (Drums) and Alex (Bass, Synth) spent the Christmas period jamming together in Paris. After the initial writing sessions, Arthur returned to NYC and the process continued as they sent tracks back and forth over the Atlantic. The band were then reunited in Brooklyn where they recorded the fruits of their labour at Strange Weather Studio (DIIV, Friends, TEEN, The Men).

In November 2013, Haus Of Pins released the band’s first single « Jaguar / ICE » on limited edition cassettes and CDs distributed in the UK, France and Japan. The band received a warm welcome from reviewers and then took part in several Indie scene events in Paris, including the opening act for Beach Fossils at Glazart and for Wampire at Point Ephemere.

After a year of gigs and dj sets in Paris, they launch their first EP on May 2014. This 4-title EP’s composition is similar to that of a lightning spectrum. It opens with ultraviolet on “Walk don’t Walk” and closes with infra red light on “Jaguar”. It’s like a “pop noire” graduation, going from light to darkness. They are revengeful songs denouncing love songs' inadequacy and coming out victorious from their stylistic breakthrough. Occasional bursts of improvisation come out throughout the EP in the form of two music-box like interludes.
