Became synonymous as the producer of Gilles Peterson's long-running Radio 1 'Worldwide' show, where Benji was known for doing track editing and making many of the documentaries the show used to air.

When the BBC started their new BBC digital radio broadcast station, BBC 1Xtra, Benstead was given his own show on the station called 'Deviation' which gave further coverage to the kind of music Gilles played on his show, but coming from slightly more of a hip-hop angle.

His final Deviation show on 1Xtra went out on 10/10/10, however he now broadcasts a two hour show at 1am every Thursday on BBC Radio 1, whilst slo running label Deviation (2).
