Antonio Tanguma Guajardo (China, Nuevo León, January 26, 1903 - December 5, 1989), known in northeastern Mexico as the «King of the accordion», was a composer and accordionist. Among his best-known compositions are: «Evangelina», «El Cerro de la Silla», «El naranjo», «Aurora Cholita», «Así es mi Tierra», «Agustina» and «Échatelas pa'l alto. Throughout his life he composed polkas, redovas, huapangos and schotices.He had so perfected his playing on the accordion that he came to touch it with his chin, with one hand, and even played with two accordions at the same time. Tanguma wrote more than 60 compositions of his authorship, which are considered typical of the area within folkloric dances.
