Ballads of the Cliché are a folk pop collective based in Jakarta. The band was founded back in 2004 when five old fellas reunited by their common interest in music. The band became an eight-pieced band since 2006, when they decided to make their long-served additional musicians as their permanent member and recorded their long awaited debut album, Evergreen.

So far, the band has released several Eps, one LP, and joined a monumental compilation called OST. Catatan Akhir Sekolah. The latest release was Old Friend EP. Released back in December 2008. All of their releases were released by themselves, in a self released way. Meanwhile, the compilation was released by Indonesia’s leading independent recording label, FFWD Records. You can check the full discography below.

Ballads of the Cliché’s music lies between perfect combinations of world’s pop tunes like Belle and Sebastian, Nick Drake, Burt Bacharach and Donovan.

Recently, Arafino Zaini, the band's keyboardist and singer left the band due to personal reason. He wanted to pursue another career outside music business. Now, the band is a seven piece band. The band is also working on some new rough materials to be recorded for their second full length. (pelukislangit)
