Biography
Capco
Members: Fred Jannin, Alan Dee
Capco was a short-lived Belgian novelty synth-pop duo established in 1986 by cartoonist and comedian Frédéric Jannin with electronic producer Alan "Magic Dee" Denisse. The band's sole release, Colegiala 7" single, came out on Jump & Shout Dance Music and featured a remake of Walter Leon's iconic Latin standard "La Colegiala," which around the time permeated European television airtime as Nescafé's leading TV advertisement jingle. The record artwork heavily referenced this association, portraying a steam locomotive (which opened the aforementioned television ad) on the front cover and coffee beans on the rear; Capco even released a special 7" picture disc edition, with the record shaped like a huge coffee bean.
