The BBC Orchestra
Real name: The B.B.C. Orchestra
The name given to the first full-size BBC orchestra, during the period 1928-30, and set-up jointly by Sir Thomas Beecham and the British Broadcasting Corporation. Beecham's involvement ceased in 1930, Sir Adrian Boult took over and the BBC Symphony Orchestra was formed that year.
