Created in memory of composer of the ‘70s rarity Black Renaissance, pianist and arranger Harry Whitaker, Astral Travel debuted in 2013 with the release of the album "Cosm’ethic" for UK label Jazz Re:freshed, later issued on Japanese label P-Vine Records. In 2020 the group releases "If You Say You Are From This Planet, Why Do You Treat It Like You Do?" for the Italian Hyperjazz Records. The album explores the poetry of Sun Ra with collective improvisations by Dwight Trible, Camilla Battaglia, Piero Bittolo Bon, Fabrizio Puglisi, Marco Privato, Tommaso Cappellato and produced by Rabih Beaini.
