Very Secretary was a band from Champaign-Urbana, IL, formed in March 1997 by Dave Johnson, Allen Johnson, Tim Adamson and former Braid drummer Roy Ewing.

After releasing their debut Standing In The Shade, Tim Adamson left the band and was replaced by violin player Rachael Dietkus.

They contributed 'Nagarkot' to Tree Records' Post Marked Stamps series, which showcased a new sound, before releasing the follow-up 'Standing In The Shade' in 1999, before breaking up after touring in 2000, following the Insound Tour Support No. 10 instalment.

The band has since taken to Instagram in 2024 to announce that Standing In The Shade will be pressed on vinyl for the first time to celebrate 25 years of the record.
