Vladimir Matkovskiy (1899 – 19??) was a Soviet cellist, an Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1951). He graduated from the Moscow Conservatory in 1922 and worked as a soloist in the Bolshoi Theatre Orchestra from 1922 to 1953. In 1933, Matkovskiy replaced Sviatoslav Knushevitsky in the famous Bolshoi Theatre Quartet and played with the ensemble for two years, until his place was taken by Isaac Buravsky.
