The Dry Throat Five

A Band from Switzerland. It started in 1982, near Geneve, where they came together and over dinner and wine decided to start a band. They called it the Dry Throat Five. Initially to play the music of Jimmy Noone. The actual founder of the band is Bertrand Reynoud is a music teacher and his love is the music of Jimmy Noone and Johnny Dodds.
Renee Hagman, by profession a instrument repair and salesman can play many instruments. In the band he has an opportunity to play cornet, trombone, clarinet and saxophones and often within the same tune. He is a perfectionist and has the talent to express himself beautifully in this idiom.
The tubaist is a high school teacher, the banjo player a physician and Raymond Graisir plays a percussion set build around a washboard. He studied classical percussion and makes a living as a piano teacher.
In the 90's the band expanded to six musicians and changed the name to Dry Throat Fellows.
