Rob started playing synthesizer and composing music when he was 15 years old. At the age of 18 he had a number one hit in the Benelux with Aurora together with the Dutch synthesizergroup Nova (2), which consisted of the same members as the group Peru, but was more commercially oriented. In 1988 Rob / Peru had a number one hit in Austria with a remix of Africa. Nova (2) released 3 albums and Peru a total of 8.
