Spanish guitarist, pupil of the eminent pedagogue and master of the guitar Emilio Pujol, he has devoted special attention to repertoire of the twentieth century and introduced for the first time many pieces by contemporary composers to the Portuguese audiences; in particular the major work for guitar of the Portuguese composer Fernando Lopes-Graça, in world premier, where most of it is dedicated to him. His pedagogic activities in Portugal since 1968 made him directly responsible for the tuition of young musicians which constitute nowadays a very successful new generation of Portuguese guitarists.
