Clarence Snyder was an organist and choral director. He was a student of Alexander McCurdy at Curtis. Succeeded Firmin Swinnen as house organist at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, PA. Friend of Menotti, Robert Elmore (The Fantasy on Nursery Themes is dedicated to Clarence), Virgil Fox, Richard Purvis (Toccata Festiva "In Babilone" is dedicated to Clarence) and many others. Teacher of Ted Alan Worth at Peabody. Organist in Wilmington, Montclair, and North Conway, New Hampshire. Founder of the Oratorio Society of NJ, Cantata Choir of Wilmington, Delaware, and the annual Mt. Washington Valley Bach Festival in NH. Always working with him and indispensable...his wife Gini.
