Бюль-Бюль, (Azerbaijani Bülbül, birth name - Murtuza Mashadi Rza oglu Mamedov; June 22, 1897 - September 26, 1961) - Soviet and Azerbaijani opera singer (lyric-dramatic tenor), musicologist-folklorist, teacher; People's Artist of the USSR (1938). Laureate of the Stalin Prize, II degree (1950). Recipient of two Orders of Lenin (1946, 1959). One of the founders of the Azerbaijani national musical theater.
