Ejnar Haglund
Real name: Ejnar Emil Patrik Haglund
Swedish concert pianist, Latinist and radio and TV personality, born March 31, 1905 in Stockholm, died August 12, 1991 in Uppsala.He obtained a philosophy licentiate degree in Latin at Uppsala University in 1933. He appeared frequently as a radio voice on Sweden's Radio during the 1930s and 40s, and could also be seen on film in minor roles. He participated very successfully in radio and TV quiz shows right up until the 1980s.
He was very knowledgeable in classical music, and had an absolute ear. He performed as a concert pianist, and was particularly known as a skilled Schubert interpreter, and was a judge in the music quiz program Musikfrågan Kontrapunkt in Sveriges Television with Sten Broman. He was also known as a very experienced piano accompanist for Gluntarne in Uppsala, and participated in many of their recordings.
Haglund was a good friend and constant companion of Gösta Knutsson, the man behind Pelle Svanslös, and was the role model for the cat Murre from Skogstibble. Until his death, he was active in various student associations in Uppsala, especially the Juvenal Order and Östgöta nation.
