Abu Bakr Abdel Aziz (1935 - 1991) was a blind Egyptian bedouin singer of the Barahima tribe. He was born in Wadi al-Qamar, Alexandria but grew up with the bedouins in the desert at the borders to Libya. He earned his nick name أبو عبعاب (Abu 'Ab'ab) from one of his first songs. Most of his songs were written by his uncle, the poet عبد المنعم مرسي (Abdel Muna'im Mursi)He was always accompanied by a small orchestra consisting of violin, lyre (played by his nephew Hamed Abdel Muna'im Mursi) and percussion.
