Café Con Leche was one of the most popular rock bands in Costa Rica during the 1980s and is one of the most important groups in the country's musical history. It was founded in 1984 by Enrique Ramírez and José Capmany, with a concept that combined music with lyrics loaded with humor or daily parodies, a genre in which they were innovative and unique. Capmany played the guitar and sang, while Ramírez was in charge of the humorous part and made sounds with a comb.
On the night of December 31st, 1987, Enrique announced his departure from the band due to personal and artistic differences.
José continued using the name of the band until 1996, meanwhile his former partner had a much lower and more discreet profile, but also a really successful career as publicist due to his creativity.
Unfortunately both artists lost their lives in 2001, under different and tragic circumstances.
