Pianist, composer, advertising jingle writer and musical director for cabaret theater Teatro ZinZanni in Seattle. Worked at the Kaye-Smith Studios, where one night he was spontaneously recruited to play on Bachman-Turner Overdrive’s megahit, “Takin’ Care of Business.” (Mr. Durkee was not delivering pizza, as urban legend has it.)
He was also responsible for the punk band Helen Keller (2)
Died January 2014.
