Dorothy Evans

Real name: Dorothy Eleanor Evans

Canadian singer, dancer, teacher, musician, and songwriter who often collaborated and performed with her sister Verna Evans. Together they played at vaudeville theaters in Canada and the United States. In 1931, they founded the Evans Sisters School of Music and Dance Arts in Montreal. Four years later they starred in Montreal's first television production, and in the war years they performed at troop shows for the armed forces. In the 1950s, she also acted as secretary-treasurer and general manager for a Canadian record company.
