The Essex was an American R&B vocal group formed in 1962. They are best known for their 1963 chart-topper and million selling track, "Easier Said Than Done".
The Essex were active-duty members of the United States Marine Corps at the time, so it was hard for the group to take advantage of their hits.
The group went on “American Bandstand” and “The Ed Sullivan Show”, and performed at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, N.Y. They toured up and down the East Coast in the summer of 1963,
