Gravel began in January 1970. Their name changed from Gravel to the Corbin/Hanner Band in 1977. Their sound was rock tinged with country in the tradition of Creedence Clearwater Revival. At one time, they were considered the best rock 'n' roll band in the Pittsburgh area.
