Swedish actor, born September 10, 1934 in Mörsil, died October 23, 2022 in Helsingborg.He was trained at Gösta Terserus teaterskola in Stockholm and then at Göteborgs stadsteaters elevskola.
He made his debut at the Göteborgs stadsteater in January 1955 as Chikara in John Masefield's De trogna, which Bengt Lagerkvist staged on the Great Stage with a large ensemble, including Erland Josephson, Per Oscarsson, Jan Malmsjö, Bertil Anderberg, Arne Nyberg and Ebba Ringdahl. This was followed by the role of David in Strindberg's Gustav Vasa with Kolbjörn Knudsen as the Swedish king.
After secondary school, he spent two years at Atelierteatern in Gothenburg, where his first assignment was Joe in D.H. Lawrence My son is mine with, among others, Maud Hyttenberg. In the spring of 1959, he played Jim O'Connor in Tennessee Williams' Glasmenageriet directed by Hans Råstam.
He came to Helsingborg's city theater in 1965 for the role of Fortunio in Alfred de Musset's comedy Ljusstaken. A couple more roles followed and when the theater director Per Sjöstrand offered him to stay at the theater after that, he decided to settle in Helsingborg.
On occasions he participated in the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra's concerts and recordings.
