Purnam Allahabadi

Real name: Mohammed Musa

Purnam Allahabadi (his more popular pen name) was an Urdu language poet. He was born during 1940 in Allahabad and then moved to Lahore in 1947, he died in 2009.

Besides writing song-lyrics for Indian and Pakistani movies, he was famous for writing the popular Qawwali "Bhar do jholi meri ya Muhammad" originally sung back in 1975 by The Sabri Brothers.
He also wrote these famous Qawwali's, all sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan: "Iss Shane Karam Ka", "Tumhain Dil Lagi Bhool Jani Paray Gi" & "Ya Hussain Ya Hussain".
