Mehmet Polat is an expert ud player, composer, ensemble leader and soloist.From Africa to India, and from Persia to the Balkans. From modern to jazz, he combines various musical styles with his Alevi spiritual, Anatolian folk and Ottoman classical musical background. He also developed his own ud with two extra bass strings to increase the scope and function of his instrument.
