Rabbi Abraham Feinberg

US clergyman, author, singer and activist. Graduated from the University of Cincinnati and was ordained by the Hebrew Union College. Served congregations in West Virginia, Niagara Falls, and New York’s Temple Israel. Left the rabbinate in 1930 and started as singing career under the name Anthony Frome with a radio programme in New York from 1932-35. Concerned by the rise of Hitler, became a rabbi again and in 1943 he came to Toronto as rabbi of Holy Blossom Temple, Canada's largest Reform Jewish congregation where he served until 1961. Was very active in protests against the Vietnam War and was one of four clergymen who visited Hanoi in 1967 and talked with President Ho Chi Minh. In the 1970s he moved to San Francisco and associated with Glide Memorial Church, where he became 'rabbi in residence. After the death of his first wife, Ruth, he moved to Reno in 1976.b.
