Drum & Bass duo hailing from Hamburg (Germany)

Oscar Oomens and Philip Dakowitz, who met in school, started making rock/metal music together with a Pearl drum set and an Ibanez guitar until they were introduced to Drum & Bass by Pendulum. At the age of 16, they started to produce Drum & Bass.

Submatik was initially founded in 2012 by Oscar Oomens with Reinout Roose, hailing from Brugge (Belgium). The name was created from Oscar's former producer name "Subsignal" and Reinout's former DJ name "Telematik". Sometime later Philip officially joined the group; the German/Belgian trio was then formed. Eventually it became difficult to collaborate across the border, and Reinout split from the group in 2014.
