Born in 1947 in Montreal to Russian parents and grew up in a Jewish neighborhood. Canadian singer and songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and former philosophy professor. He frequently backed for Kate and Anna McGarrigle throughout their entire career. He has also played with Loudon Wainwright III and featured on his records.
