The Valentines

Effective period / Period of releases: 1969 - 2012

The Valentines are an R & B vocal group from Nashville, Tennessee, not to be confused with: the 50'sDoo-Wop group from New York The Valentines, the Aussie group, the Reggae group, Canadian girl group, English choir, or any of the others, of all genres, that choose to use this international symbol of love as their name.
Formed in 1966, the original members were: Paul Granberry, Ellis Kelly, Thomas Morrow, Charles Myers and James Moon. They were "Discovery of the Year" in a local talent contest that summer.
The Valentines performed with: King James (Nixon) & the Scepters, The Charades, The Majestics, The Imperials, and others, before meeting up with Raymond & the Soul Seachers. In 1969, after numerous personnel changes, the combination of Easley, Myers, Moon and James Clemmons signed with John Richbourg Productions. They recorded for Monument Records on the Sound Stage Seven label. Myers sang lead on "Gotta Get Yourself Together". Clemmons led on the follow up single "If You Love Me". Sessions where produced by Mac Gayden.
