Jane Blue & the Hunters has been producing music/films/visual art and live performances since 2007. It is a collective of artists, that has its roots in Arnhem, Netherlands, where it's founders, Anouk de Groot, Sil vd Woerd, Djovrie Krus en Elmar Noteboom, met at ArtEZ art academy during their studies. Over the years, the project spread worldwide, with members & collaborating artists in London, Toronto, Singapore, LA & Scotland.
Now, 6 years after the projects first music video release "Worms' Jane Blue & the Hunters are proud to present the long awaited release of their debut album:
'The North'
Musically this record is best described as Contemporary Folk dressed in a dark dreamy coat, experimental and unconventional sound, yet true to it's own roots; folk.
Using only analog recorded instruments fed through amps and pedals, layered with field recorded & instrumental soundscapes, Jane Blue & the Hunters created a fresh, magical sound, which strongly relates to the poetic content of the lyrics, enhancing the atmosphere of their stories.
