Anders Pihlgren's background is not that of the typical pop artist. in 2005 he was a successful television manager, but dropped out to focus on music. 2008-09-03 he released his second album under the name Pihlis.

When Anders Pihlgren was growing up in Lidköping, all his friends wanted to play bandy. He himself chose, aged eleven, to start training figure skating. As an adult, he reached an enviable position in media in Sweden. After working his way up within TV4, he had time to run the magazine Ultra together with Linda Skugge, be head of ZTV and program director on the TV4 venture "Med i tv". Then he stopped. He emptied his savings account, traveled to Provence and recorded some songs. In the spring of 2006, the result was released: the debut album Nu skiter jag i allt och blir gravid.

In 2017 he released a Christmas song together with Lucette Rådström as the duo Lucy & Pihlis.
