Effective period / Period of releases: 2014

Members: Ethan Snyder, Matt Stevenson (2), Samuel Shea, Carter McNeil

Spires were a psychedelic rock band formed in Brooklyn, New York in November 2012 by singer/guitarist Matt Stevenson. Initially started as a home recording project, the group went on to include Samuel Shea (guitar), Ethan Snyder (drums), Jack Collins (bass), Carter McNeil (drums), and Michael Goodman (synthesizers/guitar). The band achieved early success and critical acclaim with the singles "Candy Flip/Comic Book" and "Sleepy Eyes", and by touring extensively with fellow psychedelic outfits such as Temples and The Horrors. The group experienced several line-up changes over time, and eventually was comprised of only Stevenson and Collins. Spires released their long-awaited eponymous debut EP in late 2015, before disbanding the following year.
