John ( born September 17, 1939 in Poughkeepsie, New York, died Saturday, September 12, 2020, at the age of 80).
John was the second child of three. He graduated from Gifford High School and went on to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University where he became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated.
As a child, John was very quiet and curious. He enjoyed tinkering with "things." In addition to engineering, John was also socially conscious. While attending Florida A & M University, John was actively involved in the Civil Rights Movement. He participated in sit-ins and was jailed for his efforts.
John loved music and performed in New York, California, and Europe under the stage name Parrish. His European tours fed his love for traveling and he journeyed all over the world. John finally settled in California where he became a private investigator until he retired.
