Known as Tomiță Popescu, was a romanian operatic tenor, pop singer and canto teacher, established in Vienna, Austria.
Founding member of the Timișoara Opera at March 30, 1946, by royal decree
Graduated the Institute of Arts in Timișoara, he perfected in Bucharest, under the guidance of the renowned Petre Ștefănescu-Goangă.
Debuted at Opera Română with the role of Count Almaviva in "The Barber of Seville" by Gioacchino Rossini.
His repertoire included operatic arias, arias from classical operas and pop songs.
Took part in concerts of symphonic and chamber music, and at the same time with great success with pop music.
Has performed concerts in Bulgaria, Yugoslavia Soviet Union and other countries where his performances were a great success.
1974 - Tomiță Popescu retired from music scene and began working at Ioan Holender's Impresario Agency in Vienna, putting his expertise to launch young talents like prominently stood tenors Ludovic Spiess and Corneliu Murgu.
In all the years after 1990, kept in touch with România, held masterclasses in Constanța, Brașov, Bucharest and Timișoara, has been specialized juries and commissions.
