Mexican born (Mérida, Mexico, 25 Oct. 1929 - Houston, TX, 26 Dec. 2010) singer, songwriter and executive of the record companies G.P. Records And Tapes Dist. (distributor, label Disco Popular), and Novavox (label Discos Nova Vox and later Gapoca Records), who hired Rigo Tovar to record his first album in 1971 and issued it in 1972 -- he began his musical career as a singer in Mexico, before moving to Houston, TX -- also appears as Gastón Ponce
