They played at the Inaugural Ball for President Reagan, on Irish Awareness in America Day, they were the sole musical group asked to perform for the throng from the U.S. Capitol steps; on Solidarity Day-sharing the platform with only the legendary Pete Seeger-they played to a thunderous best of half a million, for seven straight years they have been the headlines the Grand Irish Jubilee. They have appeared on national television performing for Pope John Paul II at the National Cathedral, later playing their Ballad of the You Ribbons upon the return of the American hostages from Iran, and-more recently-singing Hail to the Redskins as their adopted American football favorites headed to the Super Bowl.
