DSM Formation (sometimes DSM, D.S.M.,Формация DSM) stands for Devil Stone Medicine, a project created by Dmitry Meshcheryakov and Petr Mikov in Moscow,Russia (1997) A heavy metal- meets- industrial album "Coma" was released on Ocular Records in 1997. Shortly after, due to the fact that most russians don't speak English and have a hard time remembering and pronouncing big english names Devil Stone Medicine becomes D.S.M. (aka DSM Formation) By that point in 1998 the musical direction had changed , as well, gravitating towards electronica,d'n'b, house, acid jazz. A third member ,Michael Merzlikin joins Dmitry and Petr.While DSM Formation's music was strictly underground, they didn't shy away from working with the russian mainstream pop artists, such as Руки Вверх, Наталья Ветлицкая,Братья Дорохины,Игорь Сорин - (Русалка),
Project Ю-Ла.
In 2000 Dmitry moves to Canada, starting a new chapter under different aliases: DEEMAH , KARATUK, D_MON. Petr and Michael stay in Moscow and join their respective bands: "Konets Filma" and "Botanica"
Since Dmitry's move to Canada a few more DSM Formation's albums and singles have been released
