Created in 1989, the Academy of the Tambourine is an orchestral ensemble constituted by virtuosos of the galoubet-tambourine, stemming for the most part of the Academy of Aix-en-Provence.
Since its creation it is placed supervised by Maurice Guis.
The Academy of the Tambourine attempts to make discover in concert the wealth underestimated by the directory of the galoubet-tambourine which it presents in concertante arrangements with piano or orchestrates.
It also publishes a musical magazine, The Exercise books of the Academy of the Tambourine, to make better known the old and contemporary directory.
