Vizier of Damascus is the artist and DJ name of Arfan Munir-Rai. He is also a Sound Designer. There is a strong eastern ambiance to his music. He draws inspiration from his eastern roots which originate in Central Asia, Persia and Arabia. There is a strong lo-fi hiphop edge to his music with driving percussion, field recordings, scratchy warm images and a strong sense for story and cryptic plot. Vizier of Damascus uses a wide range of analog synths, modules, drum machines and samplers. Sound design projects have included ChalkFace Acoustic Learning Resources, Globe Trekker, Discovery Channel, Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust (WWT).
