The group formed when Daniel Mudford, Pete Woodhead, and Joe Gardiner were invited by Andrew Hulme to play live with O Yuki Conjugate. Performing and recording gave them a moment of confidence long enough to go out with their own ideas. Their first inspiration was the idea of Zoviet France going to a nightclub; their main interest currently is making music in the Kosmische idiom and guitar-powered drone.
