Rob & Jack

Real name: Robert Milo & Jacob Stiernspetz

Effective period / Period of releases: 2015 - 2019

Whether you believe in serendipity or not, it’s hard to ignore the surreal story of how Rob & Jack
first met in 2010. Too young to be allowed into a Deadmau5 show in Stockholm, they were left
stranded outside the club. We’ve all been there, right? Instead of calling it a night, the pair started
talking about their obsession with music while drinking Rob’s imported vodka from Poland and
eating some Swedish meatballs. Random story, maybe, but it was the perfect starting point for this
outrageous pair of music makers and genre contortionists.

From early releases such as ‘Shadows’ that were firmly Progressive House, Rob & Jack started
pushing their sound further. In 2016, the duo reached an all new tipping point with the release of
their groundbreaking track, ‘Badgal’. Featuring deliciously dark vocals from the hugely talented
Sanjin, ‘Badgal’ won spins from some of the biggest names including Axwell Λ Ingrosso,
Martin Garrix, David Guetta, Hardwell and Steve Angello.

Off the back of that success, much of 2017 was touring Europe and Japan and writing new material,
due out in 2018. Carrying a fiercely independent spirit, Rob & Jack self-release or use the finest niche
labels for most of their music, maintaining autonomy and artistic control at every step.
The result? This duo from Stockholm take their music wherever the inspiration leads them. Each
track has its own distinct theme, a signature identity that pervades various genres and global
influences. ‘Sabale’ has clear tribal vibes, while the Rob & Jack remix of Salvatore Ganacci's track
‘Dive’ - released on Sebastian Ingrosso’s label Refune – has Afro - Colombian influences pulsating
through, with sitars and tabla beats. Whatever the theme, each Rob & Jack track has another
definitive stamp: they all feature Jack singing on them somewhere. Whether it’s a vocal chop like in
the ‘Dive’ remix, or lead vocals in ‘Sunshine’, so listen out - it’s like part of their DNA, rubber
stamped on the sound itself.

So, mix this diverse experimentation, together with their exuberant characters and cheeky
chemistry, and you get a really raucous live show and a formidable fan base.
(Club promoters, please note: Swedish meatballs and Polish vodka are ALWAYS on the Rob & Jack
rider list, many thanks).
