Turkish artist and musician (1974 in Istanbul), known for installation art employing sounds, architectural elements, text and performance often in an attempt to alter the viewer’s perception and experience of a given environment. Erek is also the drummer and one of the founders of the Istanbul-based experimental rock band Nekropsi. Cevdet Erek was the recipient of the Nam Jun Paik Award 2012.
