Austrian jazz and schlager composer, arranger, band and orchestra leader, born in Vienna (1928) and died in Vienna (2004). Experienced conductor for theatre performances and television broadcasts. Musical director of the 1967 Eurovision Song Contest in Vienna's Hofburg. Also worked with Udo Jürgens. Brother of C. W. Fernbach, he used the alias "John Ferry", see Das Orchester John Ferry.
