Sara Vancea was born in Melbourne, Australia, and after relocating to Canberra became part of a contemporary and eclectic arts scene during the 1990s. She found herself involved in a vibrant and unconventional collective of artists and musicians working in fringe and professional theatre and performance art. She also got a guitar and began writing and performing her own songs as a solo artist and in a local band. Later relocating to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Sara set up a simple home studio and started recording and producing songs and dance music.
