Born in Dallas, Texas, U.S.
In the late '70s he relocated to Los Angeles and he formed Gary Myrick & the Figures releasing with them, two early '80s albums. In 1983 he released his solo debut album and in 1984 he collabrated with John Waite for his album "No Brakes" (co-writer in four songs and guitar playing). He did much session work (for Tommy Shaw, Jackson Browne, Stevie Wonder, Wilson Pickett, Robert Tepper etc.). In the late '80s he co-founded Havana 3 A.M. along with ex-The Clash's Paul Simonon and ex-Whirlwind (4)'s singer Nigel Dixon. He kept on with his solo career releasing more straight roots rock albums in the '00s. In 2013 he dueted with Carla Olson covering Chris Jagger's Atcha's "Still Waters".
