Coso

Real name: COSO

Effective period / Period of releases: 2009

Members: Javier Areal Vélez, Florencia Curci

COSO is a trio from Buenos Aires, Argentina, that focuses on short experimental pieces for guitar, bass, drums and homemade devices. Their solid noisy compositions are rearranged specifically for each concert (which last no more than 15 minutes), adding DIY instruments and found objects (such as an electric guitar modified to serve as percussion, hardware-hacked toy radios, banging on an amplified 100 year old industrial boiler and using live triggered video setups).

COSO has toured Argentina, Uruguay and the US, and has done a film with French director Vincent Moon. Recent highlights include opening for Melt-Banana and Black Pus in Mexico's Aural Festival 2014.

COSO has self released EP (2009) and EP2 (2014). During 2014, their music will be featured on an Argentinian experimental music compilation by Buh Records (CD, Perú) and on the double vinyl + CD compilation South America is Part of the Problem by Stereo-Neg (USA). Their next full releases will be at Mexican/German label Audition Records on a split casette with Mexican experimental/grindcore band SIC, and a new edition of their firsts two Eps on Geweih Ritual Documents (USA).
